UDHAMPUR, July 20: After a series of meetings at Tikri, Mand, Bredian, Ritti and Barta here, Ranbir Singh Pathania, BJP spokesperson condemned the recent terrorist incidents particularly the one at Dudu-Basantgarh.
“Jammu and Kashmir has faced such threats and incidents earlier also and overcame them,” he said attributing the recent acts to ‘diversionary tactics’ of a recalcitrant neighbour.
He reaffirmed BJP’s unwavering commitment to zero tolerance for terrorism.
In a separate appeal, Pathania urged the district administration to immediately cease dumping of Udhampur city’s solid wastes at village Mand.
Pathania pointed out that the current practice of dumping wastes in Mand, without a proper treatment system, poses serious public health and hygiene risks to the locals there.
He questioned the rationale behind depositing large volumes of waste in close proximity to the national highway, a critical route for the Amarnath Yatra.
The BJP leader emphasised the fundamental right of every citizen to clean, hygienic and disease-free environment.
He also called for strict enforcement of regulations against bovine smuggling and drug mafia operating in the district.
Pathania stressed on the importance of instilling a sense of security among residents, particularly in higher reaches of Udhampur like Dudu, Latti and Basantgarh.
