JAMMU, Apr 1: Stepping up campaign for the alliance candidate, senior National Conference leader and MLA Bimla Luthra addressed public meeting at Kalka Basti in Gandhi Nagar block and highlighted the policies and programmes of Coalition Government.
She said that vote to the alliance candidate Madan Lal Sharma will be support to the policies and programmes being implemented for development and progress of the State under the leadership of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Mentioning about the people-friendly initiatives taken by the Omar led Government with an avowed objective of restoring peace and ensuring faster development across the State, she particularly made a mention of schemes taken for women empowerment, addressing the vexed issue of unemployment and making the administration more responsive to urges and aspirations of the people
Mrs Luthra alleged that BJP and PDP were hand in glove to destabilize the secular forces in order to carry forward their agenda by dividing the people on communal and regional lines.
Senior NC leader and former Minister Babu Rampal also addressed the gathering and highlighted the achievements registered by the Coalition Government in the past over five years. He said that this momentum has to be carried forward with renewed vigour.
Those who were present in the meeting included Ayub Malik, S Peter, Ch Akthar, Kuldeep Ghai, Chamail Singh, Om Prakash, Rtd DySP T S Chouchan, Veena Oberia, Satwant Kour, Anju Grover and Smithri.
