UDHAMPUR, July 21: Police arrested two narco smuggler at Chenani when they were smuggling 29 kg poppy straw in a truck, here today.
Reports said that a Police team from Police Station Chenani, led by SHO Inspr Pushpinder Singh, while performing routine vehicle checking , recovered 29 Kg poppy straw from a truck loaded with Plum. Bearing Registration number JK01AQ- 1331, the truck was on way from Kashmir to Jammu.
Police arrested the truck driver and his associate, who were identified as Rajinder Singh, son of Gulla Singh, resident of Dualta Ghati, Kathua and Kuldeep Chand, son of Sansar Chand, resident of Panchote, Kud, Tehsil Chenani. Police seized vehicle and contraband also.
In this connection, a case FIR number 120/2024 under sections 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Chenani and further investigation of the case has been taken up.
