SRINAGAR, July 22: The Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department today directed all doctors to register on the generic software for MedLeaPR, an application set to be launched for medico-legal examinations and postmortem reports in J&K.
According to an order issued, the H&ME Department has instructed doctors working in the GMCs, GDCs, and those under the Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir and Jammu to register in consultation with the concerned nodal officers by or before July 31, 2024.
“Non-compliance will be reported in the form of weekly pendency of registrations by the respective DDOs/Nodal Officers to the concerned Heads of the Health and Medical Education Department for initiating appropriate action against the concerned doctor,” the order stated.
H&ME mentioned that Nodal Officers were previously nominated for the implementation of the MedLeaPR project in the Union Territory of J&K.
A dummy generic software, it said, has been created for the UT of J&K and all Health Institutes have been registered. “Additionally, around 2,500 individual doctors have also registered on the portal till date,” it said.
Further, it advised all Principals of Government Medical Colleges, Government Dental Colleges and Directors of Health Services Kashmir/ Jammu to ensure that all doctors register on the dummy generic software created for this purpose.
“However, it has been observed that many doctors have not yet registered, which has been viewed seriously by the authorities.”
“It is imperative that the registration of individual doctors be completed as per the government’s directions in a timely manner so that the MedLeaPR project can be launched in the Union Territory of J&K as soon as possible,” H&ME said.
A list of 31 nodal officers designated at various healthcare facilities across J&K has also been provided. These officers can be contacted for guidance and assistance by the doctors.
