Property dealer held with sharp-edged weapons

JAMMU, July 22: Police in Jammu’s Gharota area claimed today they have arrested one person and recovered from his possession two sharp-edged weapons.
A police official said that a patrolling party of Police Station Gharota received specific information from reliable sources that some sharp-edged weapons are lying in the office premises of a property dealer at Kalri Ring Road.
Sensing the gravity of the information, he said, a party of police station Gharota immediately rushed to the spot and cordoned the premises.
As the police party headed by SHO Gharota Arjun Magotra approached the premises, the owner of the property tried to flee on seeing the police but he was overpowered, said the police official.
During search of the property, he said, police recovered two sharp-edged weapons (tokas) from the occupant of the property which were concealed in the sofa chair.
Accordingly, the accused identified as Santokh Singh alias Sandokha of Rati Chapri, Baran Pata, Tehsil Bhalwal, District Jammu, has been booked in case FIR number 70/2024 Under Section 4/25 Arms Act registered at Police Station Gharota and further investigation taken up.
Pertinently, the arrest and seizure has been made under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Sharma and overall supervision of SP Rural Brijesh Sharma.
