Suzlon Group acquires Big Sky Wind Park in US

NEW DELHI, Apr 2:  Suzlon Group has acquired Big Sky Wind Park in US from Edison Mission Energy, the company said today.

“Suzlon Group, through its wholly-owned subsidiary SWECO, has successfully acquired Big Sky Wind Park from Edison Mission Energy,” the company said in a statement.

The wind park consisting of 114 turbines is located  in Illinois, US.

“We are pleased to have worked with our long-time customer Edison Mission on this transaction,” SWECO CEO Duncan Koerbel said.

However, the company did not disclose the financial details of the acquisition.

Meanwhile, Suzlon plans to commence production of its turbine of 2.1 mw capacity, designed for low wind speed sites, from this month.

The new machine will deliver a substantial increase in annual energy production, the company had said earlier.

Shares of Suzlon Energy were trading at Rs 11.45, up 1.06 per cent on the BSE. (PTI)
