DG Income Tax asks officers to expand tax base in J&K

SRINAGAR, July 24: The Director General (DG) of Income Tax, North West Region, Monica Bhatia today asked officers to expand tax base in Jammu and Kashmir.
Monica Bhatia was here at the Income Tax Office of the Investigation Wing to celebrate the 165th Income Tax Day. With the jurisdiction of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, Monica gave the message of honesty, commitment, integrity and efficiency to the officers of the Income Tax Department.
The officers were directed to uphold the principles of taxpayer service and facilitation with a focus on expansion of tax base in Jammu and Kashmir. The Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Surinder Kumar was also present on the occasion. He encouraged the officers to administer the Income Tax Act in a fair and transparent manner.
