JAMMU, July 24: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Kumar Vaishya chaired Block Diwas at Yatri Niwas, Kalyanpur Jhiri in block Marh today.
The event was marked with prominent participation of DDC Chairman Jammu Bharat Bhushan and DDC Vice Chairman Suraj Singh, among other officials and public representatives.
During the public meeting, several issues and grievances were raised by the attendees including the maintenance of power lines, provisions pertaining to ration cards, the development of lanes and drains, and the need for a playfield in the area.
DC took meticulous note of all the grievances and concerns raised. He gave special consideration to border security suggestions put forth by the public. In a significant engagement, the DC met with representatives of a female-only Self Help Group, inquiring about their operations and assuring full support for their progress and growth.
Acknowledging the interrelation between power and water supply, the DC emphasised the importance of addressing these issues holistically. He reminded the public that Block Diwas is a vital platform for raising both public and individual grievances, highlighting the government’s commitment to reaching the public’s doorstep to facilitate them.
DDC Chairman Bharat Bhushan highlighted that a significant portion of the Jal Jeevan Mission works had been completed, urging for the remaining works to be finished promptly. He suggested maintaining standby machinery to handle any emergencies related to JJM projects.
The Chairman also addressed the need for repairs to kuhl heads and road projects, echoing the public’s request for their development and maintenance.
Deputy Director Employment Mukhlis Ali provided special awareness regarding various self-employment schemes offered by the UT government.
The event saw the presence of CPO Uttam Singh, ACD Dr. Vikas Sharma, SDM Marh Manu Hansa, and other district officers and public representatives.
