Fix permanent air tariff for JK citizens: KS appeals to PM

JAMMU, Apr 2: A delegation of Kashmir Society led by Khwaja Fayaz Ahmad Bhat today called on Advisor to Prime Minister, TKA Nair, at New Delhi and brought in his notice the issue of excessive enhancement in fares by airlines operating in J&K during current peak season and demanded to fix permanent Air tariff for J&K citizens.
During its hour long meeting with Nair, the delegation appealed him to intervene into the matter and maintain permanent Air tariff of Rs 3500 from Srinagar to Delhi and Rs 2000 from Srinagar to Jammu on basis of prescribed quota in each Air lines, for State Subjects of J&K. The delegation also demanded that all such travelers be provided electronic State Subject Cards to prove their identities while booking their defined quota Air tickets.
Nair assured the delegation that he will bring the matter in the notice of concerned authorities for mitigating their grievances.
