CHENANI, July 24: Police arrested a drug peddler and seized heroin like substance from his possession when he was travelling in a taxi, here today.
A Police team from Police Station Chenani, led by SHO Pushpinder Singh, while performing routine naka checking, stopped one passenger taxi bearing registration number JK02DF-4649 for checking purpose.
On frisking of the driver and passengers of the vehicle, approx. 13.30 grams of heroin was recovered from the possession of one passenger namely Mohd Suman, son of Mohd Rulqmeen of Lalwas Jaipur A/P near Lal Chowk Srinagar. He was arrested on the spot.
In this connection, a case vide FIR number 122/2024, under section 8/21/22/ NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Chenani and further investigation was initiated.
