JAMMU, July 25: Dr Sunil Gupta, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Jammu-Samba-Kathua (JSK) Range, today flagged off the Bharat Darshan tour for 63 students from district Doda at Gulshan Ground, Jammu, here.
As per a statement, this initiative was part of the Civic Action Programme (CAP) and was organized by the Zonal Police Headquarters, Jammu.
The tour, scheduled from July 25 to 29, 2024, aims to provide these students with a comprehensive and educational experience. The participants, along with two caretakers from district Doda, will travel from Jammu to Delhi and then fly to Kolkata.
In his address at the flag-off ceremony, Dr Sunil Gupta underscored the Civic Action Programme’s role in strengthening the bond between the police and the community, especially the youth.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to the welfare and development of the younger generation. By involving them in meaningful activities, we strive to bridge the gap between the police and the public,” he remarked.
The Bharat Darshan Tour is designed to be a memorable experience for the students, allowing them to explore India’s diverse cultural heritage through visits to various historical and cultural landmarks.
The ceremony was attended by SSP Jammu Dr Vinod Kumar, SP South Ajay Sharma, Accounts Officer of ZPHQ Jammu Mukesh Sharma, DySP DAR Jammu Ravinder Singh, ADO ZPHQ Jammu Narinder Singh, and other officers.
