Boy attacked with sharp-edged weapons after goats stray into neighbour’s field

JAMMU, July 25: A teenage boy sustained severe injuries after he was attacked with sharp-edged weapons by his neighbours following the goats he was grazing strayed into the latter’s fields.
Police said Jagdish Raj (18) son of Manohar Lal of Pindi Sarocha, Tehsil Suchetgarh was attacked with a hoe by 3-4 people when his goats strayed into their fields around 6 pm yesterday.
“In the attack, the teenage boy suffered severe injuries in his chest, head and legs,” a police officer said.
Following the attack, he said the injured was given preliminary treatment at a local healthcare facility from where he was further taken to Government Medical College Jammu, where his condition is stated to be critical.
While police have arrested one person identified as Jagmohan of Pindi Sarocha, a manhunt has been launched to arrest the other accused in the case.
Meanwhile, all the accused have been booked under the relevant sections of the law.
