Blind murder case solved, accused arrested

CHENANI, July 25: With the arrest of accused, Police claimed to have solved blind murder of one Liaqat Ali of Narsoo, Udhampur, who was found dead in Mando Ban area of Nagulta under the jurisdiction of Police Station Chenani on July 21.
The arrested accused, identified as Balwinder Singh, son of Attar Singh, resident of Chirdi, Tehsil Chenani, has confessed his crime and revealed that he murdered Liaqat Ali over some money dispute.
Liyaqat Ali (22), son of Mussa Khan of Narsoo, Tehsil Chennai, was missing since July 17 after he left home for going to upper reaches and later his decomposed dead body with injury mark on neck was recovered from forest area. A case in this regard was registered at Police Station Chenani.
During the course of enquiry, police team, headed by SHO Chenani, Insp Pushpinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO Chenani Tahir Sheikh Amin detained some suspects. During the sustained questioning, Balwinder Singh confessed that he had murdered the deceased over some dispute on a petty amount of money.
Following the confession, the inquest proceeding was converted into murder and a case FIR number 123/2024 , under section 103 BNS was registered in Police Station Chenani. Further investigation of the case is underway.
