Crash course on new Criminal Laws concludes at SKPA

UDHAMPUR, July 26: The five-day crash course on the new Criminal Laws-2023, which commenced at SKPA on 22nd July 2024, concluded today.
Twelve officers/officials, ranging including Chief Prosecuting Officers of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) J&K, Inspectors & others participated in the course.
Organized under the directives of the J&K Police Headquarters, the program aimed to familiarize the participants with the key provisions of the recently promulgated Criminal Laws-2023 by the Central Government, ensuring their effective implementation in law enforcement.
A valedictory ceremony was held at the Academy, with SSP Rajinder Kumar Gupta, Deputy Director (Indoor) SKPA, acting as the chief guest. In his address, he emphasized the importance of understanding all three new Criminal Laws-the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita-2023, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita-2023, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam-2023-to ensure their proper application in law enforcement.
Eminent speakers, including SSP Rajinder Kumar Gupta; Sandeep Bhat, Advocate; Jasbir Singh Jasrotia, Advocate; Ravel Singh Choudhary, Retd SP; Rajesh Bakshi, CPO, ACB; Dr Savita Nayyar, Professor, Department of Law, University of Jammu; Supriya Chouhan, Advocate, High Court Jammu; Ajay Bandral, Advocate; and Amit Parkash Sehgal, Sr PO SKPA, delivered insightful lectures. They focused on the practical understanding of the new Criminal Laws to address contemporary challenges in law enforcement.
The course was coordinated by Amit Parkash Sehgal, Sr PO, assisted by SI Subash Chander, member faculty SKPA Udhampur.
