JAMMU, July 26: As part of Sanskrit month, Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Trust here today organized an awareness rally for de-addiction.
The rally started from SD Memorial Higher Secondary School, Karwanda and culminated at Government Higher Secondary School, Bhalwal and it spread the message of staying away from addiction.
The chief guest was former Minister Sham Lal Sharma, guest of honour was Director School Education Jammu, Ashok Kumar, other guests were Vikram Sharma from J&K High Court Bar Association and special guest was SP Rural Jammu, Brijesh Sharma. Distinguished guests included Regional Director Social Forestry, Ravindra Singh Goria among others.
On this occasion, Sham Lal stated that only education can eradicate the menace of addiction.
“Education is a powerful path to progress,” he said.
Ashok Sharma emphasized that efforts should be made to teach children Sanskrit.
Vikram Sharma stated that addiction is the mother of many crimes.
Brijesh Sharma mentioned how addiction damages our physical, mental, economic and family life.
Mahant Rohit Shastri informed that Sanskrit Day is celebrated every year on full moon day of Shravan and this year it will be celebrated on 19th August.
Students from SD Memorial Higher Secondary School, Karwanda and Government Higher Secondary School, Bhalwal, former Sarpanch Rajdev Singh, BDC Kuldip Kumar, SHO Garota, Arjun, Rakesh Gandotra, Dilbahadur Singh Jamwal, Vijay Gupta, Uttam Chand Sharma, Nigam Gupta, Pramod Sharma, Sunil Sharma, Prof. Sharad Sharma, Naresh Raina, Vijay Seth, Ajay Sharma, Narottam Sharma, Pawan Khajuria, Happy Singh, Sunil Sharma, Rahul Salathia, former Sarpanch, Pratap Singh, Bhushan Jamwal, Bobby Singh, Pandit Devdutt Shastri, Rajiv Sharma, Saurav Singh and others were also present on this occasion.
