Srinagar, July 26: The Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura, has ordered the reconstitution of a 9-member Grand Round and Mortality Committee for the identification of remarkable cases and mortality in various Clinical Departments.
The committee will have Dr. G.M. Gulzar from the Department of Gastroenterology as Chairman and Dr. Ajaz Nabi Koul from the Department of General Medicine as the Member Secretary.
Other members of the committee include Dr. Farooq Jan, Medical Superintendent; Dr. Mushtaq A. Bhat from the Department of Neonatology; Dr. Anjum Bashir Fazili from the Department of Community Medicine; Dr. M. Maqbool Wani from the Department of Neurology; Dr. Sheikh Adil Bashir from the Department of Plastic Surgery; Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Lone from the Department of Pathology; and Dr. Khalid Parvez Sofi from the Department of Anaesthesiology.
“In suppression of the office order under reference, sanction is hereby accorded to the reconstitution of the Grand Round & Mortality Committee at SKIMS, Soura,” reads the order issued in this regard.
As per the terms of reference, the committee shall ensure the presentation of remarkable cases in Grand Rounds from all the Clinical Departments in alphabetical order.
The committee is also tasked to identify the mortality in various departments and ensuring the presentation of cases for mortality meetings from all the departments in alphabetical order.
Further, the committee will ensure the attendance of Faculty, Senior Residents, Junior Residents, and Postgraduates of SKIMS.
The absence of doctors, except those on emergency duty, shall be brought to the notice of the concerned Heads of Departments with information to the Director SKIMS.
