JPBM demands restoration of Statehood

JAMMU, July 26: Jammu Province Bachao Manch (JPBM) chairman and former MLA, Ashok Sharma has demanded urgent restoration of Statehood to J&K. Addressing a press conference here today, Sharma asserted that the current Union Territory status has inflicted severe hardships on J&K people.
He lamented that while other States in India are demanding special status, J&K has not only lost its unique status but has been subjected to a downgrade in governance.
The JPBM leader demanded reserving employment opportunities in J&K exclusively for the local youth.
He underscored the critical need for a Land Security Bill to protect the scarce land resources of J&K.
Sharma informed that a tribute paying programme will be organised by JPBM on Monday at KL Sehgal Hall to remember the martyrs who laid their lives for the security and integrity of the nation.
