JAMMU, July 28: Lagan Society for Art and Culture here today organized ‘Geet Duggar Dharti De’ –a Dogri Sangeet Sandhya dedicated to rich musical heritage of Dogri language.
Suresh Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary to Government was chief guest while Padmashri Dr. S.P Varma was guest of honour and Chander Mohan Gupta, Ex-Mayor was special guest and Sohail Kazmi, Social Activist presided over the function.
Dogri Sangeet Sandhya was inaugurated with the lightening of traditional lamp by dignitaries.
Welcome address was given by LSAC patron, Sandeep Gupta and the function started with a melodious Bhajan.
Various Dogri songs were sung by the students of Lagan Society.
The chief guest expressed appreciation for efforts to preserve and promote Dogri culture through such artistic endeavors.
Dr. S.P Varma and Chander Mohan Gupta also spoke on the occasion.
In the end, president, Rajesh Kumar gave vote of thanks.
