UDHAMPUR, July 28: Negligent driving claimed life of a 14-year old girl when a rashly driven minibus hit a stranded truck on the roadside in Chenani, here late last night.
The accident took place around 11:30 pm when the minibus bearing registration number JK14-9079 hit the stranded truck (JK05G-7741) at Champeri, near Dingi Puli Chenani resulting into on spot death of the girl and minor injuries to others.
The victims were on way to Chenani from Udhampur after attending a marriage function when driver of the minibus lost control over wheels due to overspeeding.
The deceased girl was identified as Babli Devi, daughter of Makhan Lal Sharma of Nagulta.
Police have registered a case in this connection under section 281/106 BNS at Chenani Police Station and arrested the minibus driver, identified as Amit Sharma of Champeri.
