POONCH, July 29: Massive landslide blocked Jammu-Poonch highway at Lassana in Surankote area of Poonch district today.
Official sources said that the road widening work is going on this stretch due to which after rainfall, several boulders came on the road at Lassana and also near Madana. With this the movement of vehicles came to halt in this highway.
After some time, the machinery was deployed at the site to clear the road,. It was restored after an hour.
Station House Officer Surankote Rajesh Thapa said that the traffic movement was affected for about an hour. The single traffic was restored and thereafter the road widening work was going on. He said there was rain in the area during morning hours and it caused land slide.
