Experts analyze Union Budget at SCOPE session

JAMMU, July 29: The Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) today collaborated with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and Deloitte to host a session titled “Decoding the Union Budget 2024.”
The event featured insights from Prof N R Bhanumurthy, an eminent economist; Atul Sobti, Director General of SCOPE; and CA Anuj Goyal, Central Council Member of ICAI.
The session included a comprehensive presentation on the Budget’s new provisions and taxation amendments, delivered by senior partners and experts from ICAI and Deloitte.
Over 100 participants from various Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) joined the program, which was available both in-person and via SCOPE’s social media channels.
Prof NR Bhanumurthy praised the Budget for its balance between short-term and medium-term economic strategies, emphasizing the importance of productivity and labor market reforms.
Atul Sobti described the Budget 2024 as “future-oriented,” focusing on long-term growth and strategic priorities.
He stressed the crucial role PSEs will play in helping India advance to become the world’s third-largest economy.
CA Anuj Goyal lauded the Budget’s emphasis on granting greater freedom to trade and industry, highlighting its positive impact on economic growth.
