Samba police apprehends 9 gamblers, recovers stake money of Rs 18,400

SAMBA, July 30: Police has apprehended nine gamblers red-handed in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur, district Samba and recovered stake money to the tune of Rs 18,400 along with playing cards and nine mobile phones from their possession.
Acting on specific information regarding gambling, a police team headed by SHO, Vijaypur raided the gambling spot near Gurdwara Gali Vijaypur and apprehended nine gamblers while gambling along with stake money of Rs 18,400, playing cards and nine mobile phones from their possession.
The apprehended gamblers, all residing at present Vijaypur, have been identified as Kamlesh Kawet, son of Dharam Ram of Barekalam tehsil and district Jahnagar (Chhattisgarh), Raju Ahirwar, son of Hari Ram of Laloni tehsil, Chattarpur district Bhowal (MP), Dhanjay Kumar, son of Ram Prashad of Padoh, tehsil Nowgarh, district Jhangir Champa (Chhattisgarh), Gkanshayam, son of Gokul Sahu of Shitalpur tehsil Beligarh district Sharangarh (Chhattisgarh), Surinder Lal, son of Sat Ram of Keharian, tehsil Belligarh, district Sharangarh, (Chhattisgarh), Janak Raj, son of Ram Kumar of Nowapara tehsil, Bellygarh district, Sharangarh (Chhattisgarh) at present, Kootah Morh Hiranagar, Kathua, Vikas Kumar, son of Ragubir Lal of Shitah tehsil and district Jahangir Champa (Chhattisgarh), Gopi Nath Nayak, son of Nikhil Nayak of Rahati tehsil Zanatparshad, district Ganzanand, Keshay Lekri, son of Bishram Lekri of Sheetal tehsil Bellygarh, district Sharangarh (Chhattisgarh).
Legal action under Section 13 of Gambling Act has been taken by police against the said gamblers.
