DGP rewards retiring personnel with Rs 56 lakh in gifts

JAMMU, July 31: The Director General of Police (DGP) RR Swain has sanctioned a retirement gift of Rs 56 lakh in favour of 56 police personnel retiring today, either through superannuation or voluntary retirement.
As per an order issued by the PHQ, each retiree, including one Gazetted officer, 39 non-Gazetted officers, 9 lower subordinates, and 7 followers, will get Rs 1 lakh at the time of retirement.
These funds, drawn from the Contributory Police Welfare Fund, are given as a token of appreciation for their services.
This year, the Police Headquarters has already allocated Rs 11.19 crore in retirement gifts to 1119 personnel, underscoring the Department’s commitment to recognizing its members’ contributions
