Pindi Sarochan case: Police arrest fourth accused

JAMMU, July 31: Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) have arrested the fourth accused in the Pindi Sarochan assault and murder case of a teenage boy.
On July 24, one Jagdish Raj (18) son of Manohar Lal of Pindi Sarochan, Arnia, was brutally assaulted by his neighbours when his herd of goats accidentally strayed into their fields. The teenage boy succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Government Medical College Jammu later.
Post attack, police registered an FIR number 40/2024 under section 109 of the BNS and arrested one Jagmohan of Pindi Sarochan.
As the investigation proceeded, the other accused, including Ashu Devi wife of Jagmohan, Gara Ram son of Jagmohan, all residents of Pindi Sarochan, Arnia, were also arrested by the police.
Today, police arrested another accused identified as Sohan Lal of Pindi Sarochan.
A police official said that earlier investigation of the case was undergoing under section 109 of the BNS but now section 103 of the BNS has been invoked to further investigate the case.
