KARGIL, Aug 1: To mark the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Imam Zain-ul-Abideen (AS) a function organised by Jamiat Ul Ulama Isna Asharia Kargil (JUIAK) Ladakh, in collaboration with the Ullama Council Ladakh (UCL) was held here today.
On the occasion, tribute were paid to Hazrat Imam Zain-ul-Abideen (AS) and a mourning procession was taken out.
The procession began from Isna Ashriya Kargil Chowk and proceeded towards Drass.
Thousands of mourners from across Kargil gathered at the Jama Masjid Drass to participate in a day-long Majlis organized to honor the legacy of Hazrat Imam Zain-ul-Abideen (AS).
The President of JUIAK Ladakh, Sheikh Nazir Mehdi Mohammadi, highlighted the martyrdom and significant contributions of Hazrat Imam Zain-ul-Abideen (AS) to Islam.
He spoke on the Imam’s life, teachings, and the importance of communal harmony and solidarity, emphasizing that the event transcended religious boundaries and demonstrated the diverse yet united fabric of the region.
Imam Jumma Drass Sheikh Hussain Barimo, along with other members of the Ullama Council Ladakh, and thousands of mourners also reflected on the philosophy of Muharram, underscoring the enduring message of peace and resilience.
At the conclusion of the event, JUIAK Ladakh expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the administration for their meticulous arrangements, which ensured the smooth conduct of the procession and the overall program.
