JAMMU, Aug 1: The Cyber Cell of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) has recovered Rs 85000 of an individual lost to an online fraud.
A Cyber Cell official said that the complainant received a recharge message on his phone followed by which he was approached by an unknown caller who claimed that he had recharged the former’s number accidently.
Accordingly, when the complainant asked the unknown caller that he will pay back the amount, the latter asked the victim to share the screenshot. When he did so, he lost Rs 85000 to the fraudster.
Acting on the complaint of the victim, the Cyber Cell swung into the action immediately and got the amount recovered.
