BJP Core Group to meet today

JAMMU, Aug 2: BJP Core Group meeting will be held here tomorrow evening to discuss the party’s strategy for coming elections.

As per party sources, Union Minister of Coal and Mining and party’s election Incharge of J&K UT, G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister in PMO with independent charge of Science and Technology Dr Jitendra Singh and national general secretary of party, Tarun Chugh will also participate in the meeting which will be attended by the other Core Group members of the J&K.
Sources said that both Union Ministers and Tarun Chugh will reach here tomorrow. The meeting will have detailed deliberations on poll strategy and also discuss the outcome of ongoing party programmes including Tridev and Morcha Sammelans.
Sources said the senior national leaders will ascertain the views of Core Group members on party’s preparedness for elections, names of probable candidates besides chalk out strategy of concentrating on those areas where party did not fare well in last Lok Sabha elections by overcoming the short comings whatsoever.
The members of the Core Group who will participate in the meeting included Party JK UT president, Ravinder Raina party general secretary (Org), Ashok Koul, MP Lok Sabha and party whip in the House, Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP Rajya Sabha, Gulam Ali Khatana, former Dy CMs, Dr Nirmal Singh, Kavinder Gupta, party national secretary, Dr Narinder Singh, party general secretaries, Dr D K Manyal, Sunil Sharma and Vibodh Gupta, party vice president, Shakti Parihar, senior leader and ex MLA, Devender Singh Rana, party chief spokesperson, Sunil Sethi, Party spokesperson, G L Raina, Wakf Board Chairperson, Dr Darakshan Andrabi and BJP Seh Prabhari Kashmir, Rafiq Wani.
Sources said party general secretary Dr Manyal will be coordinating the meeting which will be held at party Headquarters Trikuta Nagar. Maintaining that Core Group as a matter of routine has to meet once in every month but as a run up to coming Assembly elections tomorrow’s meeting has a special significance, sources added.
