‘Increase vigil, thwart infiltration bids’

RAJOURI, Aug 2: Northern Command chief Lieutenant General Suchindra Kumar and GOC Nagrota based 16 Corps Lieutenant General Naveen Sachdeva visited Rajouri today to review security situation in the border district.

They held a meeting with GOC Manish Gupta, GOC Gourav Rishi, DC Rajouri Om Prakash Bhagat, SSP Rajouri Randeep Kumar, SSP Poonch Yougal Manhas, other military officials and civil society members.
The Northern Commander interacted with the soldiers and appreciated them for keeping a 24-hour vigil with high morale. He urged them to continue working with enthusiasm and dedication to provide a stable security environment.
Lt Gen Kumar and Lt Gen Sachdeva took stock of the existing security arrangements during their visit to Rajouri. They were apprised of the operations being carried out against terrorists and the strategy to prevent infiltration. They were also briefed on operational preparedness of the Army along with the Army Grid on the Line of Control in the border district of Rajouri. They lauded the troops for strictly following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while facing the challenges posed by mischievous elements.
Appreciating the excellent synergy between all security forces in the district including the LoC, the top Army officers exhorted all ranks to maintain a safe and peaceful environment for the people of the district.
The Army Commander while interacting with the officers and jawans deployed there, commended them for the high level of morale and alertness and exhorted them to continue to work with zeal and dedication to overcome the challenges of the weather.
The Army Commanders asked them to maintain a strict vigil on every movement across the LoC and increase vigilance and alertness to thwart any infiltration attempts and issued instructions to give a befitting reply to the enemy in their own language.
