Drug peddlers nabbed with heroin in Sopore

Srinagar, Aug 4: Police in north Kashmir’s Sopore today arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 52 grams of heroin from their possession.
Authorities reported that a police team from Police Station Sopore, led by SHO and IC PP Warpora under the supervision of SDPO Sopore, intercepted two suspects at a checkpoint established at Brath Road near Butchek Mode.
The suspects, who were later arrested, have been identified as Tabish Nazir Bhat, son of Nazir Ahmad Bhat, resident of Dangerpora Sopore, and Javaid Ahmad Tantray, son of Abdul Majeed Tantray, resident of Khunbal Handwara.
“During the search, officers recovered 52 grams of heroin from their possession. They have been arrested and lodged at the police station,” the police stated.
A case has been registered at Police Station Sopore under FIR No. 187/2024, and an investigation has been initiated, authorities said.
