NAGROTA, Apr 6: Describing dismemberment of People’s Democratic Party only a matter of time, Provincial President National Conference Devender Singh Rana on Sunday exposed the cold war going on within top PDP leadership over toeing contradictory lines in the Kashmir and Jammu regions.
“While preferring hot pursuit in the Kashmir Valley, the PDP leadership is openly aligning with communal BJP in Jammu region”, Mr Rana said while addressing a series of election rallies at Chacj Kagdabm Baubm Cgukkam Sabdan and other areas of Nagrota this afternoon, adding that by boarding two boats it has almost reached a point of total collapse.
The Provincial President took pity on the PDP for running with hare and hunting with hounds, saying compulsion of remaining relevant to the political situation has forced its leadership to go on self-destructive path. He described the anger of PDP leadership against NC-Congress alliance as a sign of frustration and said after failing to create wedge between the two, its leadership has resorted to falsehood and finding faults.
“For over five years now, top PDP leaders have reduced themselves to PR personnel in highlighting what has never been their performance during brief three years’ tenure”, he said while describing that era as a nightmare which witnessed nothing but hullabaloo. He said PDP’s three years of leading the coalition have gone waste while their spell remained dominated by intrigues aimed at overthrowing the democratically constituted Azad led government. “Ultimately, the PDP found itself crumbled under its own weight”, he added.
Mr Rana said the people of Jammu and Kashmir will never forgive the PDP for conspiring with BJP to disintegrate the State for its vested interest. “2008 Amarnath land row agitation was more than that met the eyes”, he said, adding the agenda behind PDP’s misadventure was to bifurcate the State.
“They have not given up this sinister game-plan even now”, Mr Rana said while referring to its unholy alliance with BJP ever since PDP’s creation,” he said, adding that short picnic with Congress was its opportunistic character to remain in power by hook or crook.
The Provincial President urged the PDP leadership to remove tinted glasses and not remain blindfolded to the era of development that has overtaken despair and dejection during the past over five years. While all the three regions and their sub-regions were enjoying the fruit of development, the State has entered into an era of transparency and accountability. He referred to the revolutionary legislations like Right to Information and Public Gurantee Services Acts, saying these have made the administration accountable to the people.
Referring to the ongoing elections to Lok Sabha, the Provincial President said PDP is finding itself pushed to the wall due to massive support forthcoming to alliance candidates. “These elections are proving as watershed in the democratic history of Jammu and Kashmir”, he said adding that after the results, the PDP will be forced to close down its outdated political shop that had been opened at the behest of anti- NC forces in New Delhi who wanted the State to plunge into political instability.
