JAMMU, Aug 6: A 24-year-old woman has accused an advocate of sexual harassment in Jammu District.
A police official said that on the complaint of a divorced woman, advocate Gaurav Singh Bhau has been booked under the relevant sections of the law and a manhunt has been launched to arrest him.
According to him, the victim has alleged in her complaint that she approached Advocate Bhau to fight her divorce case.
“As the complainant and the accused started meeting in connection with the case,” the police official said, “the advocate offered to marry the woman and began exploiting her under the pretext of marriage.”
After around seven months, the accused denied marrying the woman, citing issues related to the victim’s caste, the official added.
“On the woman’s complaint, the accused has been booked under the relevant sections of the law, and a manhunt has been launched to arrest him,” the police official said.
