JAMMU, Aug 6: Dogri Sanstha Jammu released Abdul Quddir Kundria’s collection of poetry in Dogri language entitled ‘Gote Ge Gote’ in a simple but an impressive function organized at the Writers’ Club, here today.
The function was presided over by Prof Lalit Magotra, President Dogri Sanstha Jammu and eminent theatre Director Padmashri Balwant Thakur was chief guest while Javaid Rahi, Secretary Kala Kendra Society Jammu, was guest of honour on the occasion.
While complementing on the contributions of Abdul Quddir Kundria, Balwant Thakur said that he has been writing for a long time and a collection of poetry was long awaited from him. He said that his poetry has a connection with the roots and he has touched almost all aspects of life and surroundings in his poetry. He further added that Kundria has rich vocabulary which is evident from particular words used in poetry.
Prof Lalit Magotra, in his presidential address said that Abdul Quddir Kundria is a very dedicated Dogri litterateur and has a passion for the mother tongue. His devotion for the language is an inspiration for the new entrants in the field of literature, said Prof Magotra and hoped that he will continue enriching Dogri literature with more books in future also.
Javaid Rahi recalled his long association with the poet and said that he is in fact a very humble man who has a special bond with his cultural heritage and always tries his level best to promote mother tongue Dogri.
Abdul Quddir Kundria also shared his literary journey on this occasion and presented a few poems on varied subjects from the book.
During the function, a detailed paper on the book was presented by Prof Veena Gupta, Vice president Dogri Sanstha Jammu. The program was conducted by Dogri poet Susheel Begana in his unique style. The book release function was attended by galaxy of littérateurs, literature lovers and family members of Abdul Quddir Kundria.
