JAMMU, Aug 6: Government College for Women (GCW) Parade Ground, Jammu signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in enhancing educational opportunities and skill development for students.
The MoU was signed by Dr.Vandana Dogra, Medical Superintendent of Government Ayurvedic Hospital, Jammu, and Dr. Ravender Kumar Tickoo, Principal, GCW Parade Ground, Jammu.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of distinguished officials including Dr.Aruna Bhat, Deputy Medical Superintendent, Dr. Arun Gupta, Medical Officer, Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu and Dr. Alpanan Vohra, Convener, Skill Development Cell, Dr.Gurpreet Kour, Skill Development Coordinator, and Prof. Surinder Parihar, IQAC Convener from GCW Parade Ground, Jammu.
This partnership aims to introduce a skill development course in “Beauty and Wellness” and a multidisciplinary course in “Indian Knowledge System” (IKS), adhering to the guidelines set forth by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. These courses are designed to equip students with practical skills and knowledge, fostering holistic development and promoting traditional Indian wisdom alongside modern wellness practices.
Dr. Vandana Dogra expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the potential benefits for students in terms of skill acquisition and career opportunities.
Dr. Ravender Kumar Tickoo emphasized the importance of integrating traditional knowledge with contemporary education to create a well-rounded learning experience.
The new courses will provide students with hands-on training and theoretical knowledge, preparing them for various career paths in the wellness industry and areas related to Indian traditional practices.
