RAFIABAD, Aug 6: Senior vice president of J&K People’s Conference and former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today expressed concern on depriving daily wagers working in different departments, Anganwari workers and helpers of their salaries for last more than three months,
Vakil said the families of these hapless Daily Rated Workers (DRWs) are facing starvation, although they are serving the people day and night by making the department functional which are totally dependent on daily wagers like PHE, PDD, Forest and Agriculture etc.
He was addressing workers meeting held at Pakhwara , Hamam, Markoot and Paizalpora Rafiabad. Vakil also expressed grave concern over the Government’s failure to adequately irrigate Paddy crops and this neglect left countless farmers in a dire situation threatening their both livelihood and food security this situation has exacerbated the struggle of those who rely on these crops for their income and sustenance.
Vakil demanded immediate release of salaries of daily wagers and also urgent measures including the repair and expansion of irrigation system to prevent further losses.
