RAMBAN, Aug 6: In a road accident here today, one person on board a truck lost his live while driver of the vehicle sustained injuries when the truck rammed into railing of a bridge at Kelamorh area on Jammu-Srinagar Highway.
Police sources informed that a rashly driven truck bearing registration number JK05E-6137 while on way to Jammu hit the railing on a bridge.
On getting information, rescue teams of Police and local volunteers rushed to the spot and after hectic efforts retrieved the injured and the dead person on board the truck and shifted them to District Hospital Ramban.
The deceased conductor was identified as Sahil Ahmed Khan, son of Mohammad Akbar Khan, resident of Bounyar in Baramulla.
The injured was identified as Abid Rasheed, son of Abdul Rasheed, resident of Wankara, Baramulla and he was admitted at District Hospital Ramban for treatment.
Doctors treating him said that he was stable.
SHO Police Station Ramban, Inspector Vijay Kotwal said a case in FIR no. 188 of 2024 under Section 281/106 BNS was registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
