JAMMU, Aug 6: Police today conducted an awareness drive related to prevailing security Scenario, roles and responsibilities of citizens towards strengthening the security grid specially around the important religious places of pilgrimage like Bawe Wali Mata temple complex and adjoining area.
SP City South along with SDPO City East Jammu Sheezan Bhat, SHO Bagh e Bahu and Incharge PP Mandir toured the whole temple market, surrounding areas, fort complex and main temple premises and interacted with the stake holders to make them aware about the role and responsibilities of citizens, shop keepers, devotes, volunteers during the present prevailing security scenerio and requested them to inform Police about any suspicious activity/person/object and be a part of security grid of Jammu Police .
All important phone numbers were shared with the public, shopkeepers and devotees including the numbers of PCR Jammu. SP South requested the shopkeepers to install more CCTV cameras and increase the storage capacity of already installed DVRs.
Later, the SP South, Jammu along with the team reviewed the security of PP Mandir Bahu Fort and briefed the nafri and asked to be alert, extra vigilant and respond quickly in case of any exigency.
The public, devotees and shopkeepers of the area appreciated the positive step of Jammu police for public outreach in an important temple complex of Jammu and interacting with the stakeholders with full police team.
