REASI, Aug 7: Historical Kounsar Nag Yatra along with `Charri Mubarak’ was today flagged off from Reasi.
The yatra was flagged off in presence of VHP Secretary Haryana Prem Shankar, various officials and prominent citizens, including former MLA Ajay Nanda.
Lot of enthusiasm and high spirit was visible on the faces of pilgrims hailing not only from Reasi but also from other far-off areas, who sang Bhajans and had queued up in the wee hours to take part in the yatra despite bad weather.
The Kounsar Nag yatra along with Charri Mubarak was organised successfully in the past due to which Reasi-Chassana route has gained popularity. People, hailing from various parts of the UT, expressed willingness to join the pilgrimage this year.
Kounsar Nag is one of the high-altitude springs of Kashmir situated at 30 km from Aharbal. The spring shimmers with fresh, glacial waters and covers an area of 5 km in length and two and a half kilometers in breadth.
Yesterday DC Reasi Vishesh Paul Mahajan had joined the Puja of holy Charri at various temples in Reasi.
