Govt Acts on Anti-Nationals

The decision by the Government to sack six employees, including five policemen, on charges of anti-national activities marks a significant step in addressing the deeply rooted issues of terrorism and drug trafficking in J&K. This move underscores the Government’s commitment to maintaining State security and combating the intricate nexus between terrorism and narcotics. The individuals dismissed were allegedly involved in various forms of anti-national activities, ranging from drug peddling to facilitating terrorist operations. The accusations are grave: these individuals were reportedly linked with proscribed terrorist organisations like Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Toiba, actively working as OGWs to aid and abet terrorism. Saif Din’s case highlights the insidious nature of drug trafficking intertwined with terrorism. As a deeply motivated drug peddler, he allegedly established channels that not only facilitated the smuggling of narcotics but also weapons. This nexus between drug trafficking and terrorism is particularly alarming as it indicates a multi-faceted threat to national security, where the proceeds from drug sales are funnelled into financing terror activities.
Similarly, the involvement of Head Constable Sheikh, along with Khalid Shah and Rahmat Shah, in receiving narcotics consignments from PoJK smugglers further elucidates the complex operational strategies of these anti-national elements. Their activities are reportedly aimed at destabilising the region by funding terrorism through drug money, highlighting a well-organised network that threatens the stability and security of the State. Teacher Nazam Din’s engagement in drug peddling and his connections with hardcore terrorists in Pakistan further illustrate the pervasive reach of these terror networks. The invocation of Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution to terminate these employees reflects the urgent need to address such threats decisively. The recent surge in terror incidents and the involvement of numerous policemen is an alarming indication that necessitates increased vigilance to eliminate infiltrators within the system. The Government’s action serves as a stern warning to those who engage in activities detrimental to the state. Such stringent measures are the need of the hour to combat the dual menace of terrorism and drug trafficking in Jammu and Kashmir.
