Police seizes 9 dumpers, 3 excavators, JCB involved in illegal mining

KATHUA, Aug 7: In its action against the mining mafia in the area, Rajbagh police today seized nine dumpers, three excavators and one JCB machine.
The dumpers seized by the police were having registration numbers, HP12K/9372 2, HP12Q/5737 and PB02EA/6047 HP93A/5551, PB06B/8411, PB06BE/9165, PB06AK/2637, JK08D/7674 and PB06V/9825 respectively. Besides, a JCB Machine bearing Number HAR4DXSDL02677021 and excavators with Registration Number H22NDN63SCE0005379, HYNDN633KE0004642 and SP20-57191 respectively were also seized.
Police said a team of Police Station (PS), Rajbagh comprising of SHO Rajbagh, Inspector, Rajeshwar Singh Slathia, IC BPP Korepunu, SI, Som Raj, IC, BPP, Haria Chack, ASI, Devinder Singh along with other officials on specific information raided the Ujh river at Korepunnu where illegal mining was going on in the midnight of August 6 and 7 and police party seized the dumpers and other machinery on spot which was indulging in illegal mining in the area.
In this connection FIR No. 176/2024 U/S 303(2)/317(5)/281 BNS, 4/21 Mines and Mineral Act-1957 has been registered at PS Rajbagh. The operation was supervised by the SDPO Border, Chadwal Dheeraj Katoch under the overall supervision of Senior Superintendent of police Kathua, Anayat Ali.
