JKSAC projects pending issues of PoJK DPs

NOWSHERA, Aug 8: The Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) unit Rajouri in a meeting held at Nowshera today projected the issues of DPs of 1947 from PoJK.
The meeting was chaired by Master Roshan Lal, a prominent senior leader of the area alongwith the other senior leaders. It was unanimously appealed to the Central Government to clarify its stand regarding the acceptance of Joint Parliamentary Report presented in both the Houses of Parliament on Dec 22, 2014, awaiting Government’s decision since then.
The participants strongly demanded the revocation of ban illegally imposed by Government on registration/transfer of state land allotted to DPs and conferred proprietary rights vide Government’s order No. 254-C of 1965. Besides this, the participants also asked the Govt to regularize the land under the DPs dwellings and also evacuee’s residential/commercial structures allotted to DPs on nominal rent basis which are in dilapidated conditions.
The prominent speaker Col Kundan Khajuria, Dr Deep Kumar, Nain Chand Mohinder Singh. Gurcharan Singh, Ravinder Singh, Jaswant Singh, Adv Rajinder Sharma, Dr Naresh Kumar, Dev Saroop and Dilbagh Singh strongly criticized and condemned the self styled leaders spreading rumours among DPs regarding the second installment of Rs 11 lakh and asking the DPs to fill up the forms which are being sold at the rate of Rs 500 each. The DPs were awared by all the speakers not to fell in the trap of such elements as there is no such second installment of the said amount and the relief of Rs 5.5 lakhs being paid to DPs has been declared by the Govt. as one time settlement.
The speakers appealed the Pradesh BJP and both the MPs to take up the DPs legitimate genuine issues viz. defreezing of their constitutional share of over 8 Assembly seats, regularization of lands under DPs dwellings which is being demanded from the past seven decades, regularization of the evacuee’s residential/commercial structures in the name of DPs having allotment on rental basis.
Master Roshan Lal, said that many times both MPs and the other leaders of BJP were requested to impress upon the UT and Central Govt. to accept the JPC report which is viable roadmap to end the DPs sufferings and has recommended ex-gratia relief of Rs 30 lakhs to each DP family alongwith other component as said above. He appealed to the PM and Home Minister to pay attention towards DPs legitimate settlement issues with an advisory to UT Government to prepare a concrete roadmap to resolve the same.
