License of 5 medical shops suspended

POONCH, Aug 9: After directives from State Drug Controller Lotika Khajuria and Deputy Controller Mohd Iqbal Pala, a team under the supervision of Assistant Controller Drugs Rajouri/Poonch Archana Mujoo, conducted surprise inspections across Rajouri/Poonch districts during which over 50 retail sale establishments were inspected and licenses of five (5) retail shops were suspended for violating the conditions of the licenses.
Additionally, awareness workshops were held at Rajouri, Poonch, Mandi, Nowshera and Sundarbani, which were attended by Medical shop owners. Assistant Controller Drugs, Rajouri Poonch, informed that Government has initiated proactive measures to see the society free of substance abuse. The department under the overall supervision of State Drug Controller has initiated special drive to ensure that the pharmacies dispense medicines in the best interest of patient and public care.
“The Chemist fraternity was impressed upon to adhere to the conditions of licenses and mandate of law and to dispense the medicines strictly in consonance with Registered medical practitioner only. Strict instructions have been issued to install CCTV cameras and computerized billing system as per the directives of the government,” she added.
