Blind murder solved in Baramulla, 4 arrested

Srinagar, Aug 10: Police today solved a blind murder case by arresting four people in Baramulla district.
A police statement said that on August 2, this year Police Post Palhallan received information about an unknown dead body found under the Khambiyar-Andergam bridge. The body was later identified as that of Nasir Ahmad Ganaie, a resident of Pousnag, Kreeri.
The police team led by SDPO Pattan, DSP Shahjahan assisted by SHO Pattan Insp Mohammad Shafi and DO Palhalan SI Raees, carried out a sustained interrogation, examination of evidences and analysis of technical data and succeeded in identifying 4 accuseds namely, Ghulam Mohiuddin Ganie, son of Late Ghulam Nabi, Fatima Begum, wife of Ghulam Mohiuddin Ganie, Rubeena Bano, daughter of Ghulam Mohiuddin Ganie and Aadil Ahmad Ganie, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin, all residents of Gundbal Pattan, District Baramulla.
The police spokesman further stated that the investigation revealed that the accused hatched a conspiracy to kill the deceased on August 1, 2024. They strangulated him to death using a dupatta and later disposed off the body under the bridge.
The accused have been arrested and are currently under police custody. The police team has also recovered dupatta and other vital evidences.
“Further investigation is under progress in the instant case,” reads the statement.
