JAMMU, Aug 10: The much-anticipated “Jammu Folk Star” Mega Audition, a unique competition focused solely on Dogri and Pahari songs, was held today at the KL Saigal Hall, Abhinav Theatre complex, Jammu.
The event, organized by Mandeep Singh Chib, Tarun Tak, Neeraj Sharma and Ashu Kotwal, in collaboration with Jammu Tourism and Kala Kendra Society Jammu, witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth aged 16 to 35 years.
The event was graced by Yudhvir Sethi, J&K BJP vice president, as the chief guest. The jury members were Chaman Lehri, Sonali Dogra, Suresh Kumar, Sars Bharti, Vishakha Bhardwaj, Ruhi Singh, Juhi Singh, Sunil Sharma, Master Ashish, Mandeep Singh, Tarun Tak, Ashu Kotwal, Yogi Singh and Neeraj Sharma.
Speaking on the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi emphasized the untapped potential of the youth in Jammu and Kashmir. He remarked, “J&K’s youth possess immense talent, and it is crucial to provide them with the right platform to showcase their abilities. There is no doubt that if we focus on honing their skills, these young artists will soon perform on national stages, bringing pride to our region.”
The auditions drew a large number of participants, each eager to showcase their talent and earn a place in the final round. The event was marked by vibrant performances that highlighted the rich musical traditions of Dogri and Pahari cultures.
The organizers acknowledged the collaboration with Jammu Tourism and Kala Kendra Society Jammu, which played a crucial role in the success of the event.
The “Jammu Folk Star” competition is set to continue with further rounds, where the best talents will compete for the title, celebrating the essence of regional music.
