SAMBA, Aug 11: Claiming that Congress will emerge single largest party in forthcoming Assembly polls, JKPCC Working President Raman Bhalla today vowed to defeat the ‘communal and divisive forces’ in J&K.
“Congress will not allow these communal and divisive forces to play with the emotions of people for political gains,” he said while addressing an impressive public gathering at Panchayat Rampura of Ramgarh constituency in Samba District, here today.
The public meeting was organized by former Minister Yashpal Kundal along with ex MLA Durga Dass.
Drawing attention towards unprecedented price rise and record unemployment, especially in J&K, Bhalla alleged that the Modi Government has utterly failed to bring the prices under control. “All sections of society are worst sufferers under BJP regime. The Jammu and Kashmir tops in the unemployment in the country and the educated youth are frustrated due to wrong policy of the Government. Lakhs of educated youth are without jobs while the daily wagers, need based, contractual and other temporary employees are protesting for regularization,” he said.
Demanding restoration of Statehood for J&K, Bhalla said that until the status of Statehood with all consequential rights and the popular Government is restored, people’s unrest will not end. “People feel cheated, divided, deprived, downgraded with loss of dignity, status and genuine rights, which was never expected by them even in dream,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Yashpal Kundal asserted that the Congress party, with its principled approach, is better equipped to govern and develop the nation. He criticized the BJP’s unfulfilled promises, particularly their failure to curb black money and generate employment for the youth. “People have to decide and choose between fake and true leaders in Assembly elections,” he said.
Prominent among those present on the occasion, include Working President Distt Samba Babal Gupta, Sarpanch Suresh Sharma, Sarpanch Vinay Sharma, Mehesh Sharma, Tanveer Singh, Davinder Singh, Romesh Singh, Darshan Singh, Manu Sharma, Krishan Lal, Jai Lal Verma, Dr Sandhor Singh, Romesh Kumar, Roop Lal, Kamal Kour, Rakesh Singh Sambyal, Sunil Sharma, Raj Kumar Koli, Sardari Lal, Bazai Singh, Sanju Sangral and others.
