JAMMU, Aug 11: A meeting of the Senior Citizens Cell of BJP was held under the chairmanship of J D Singh, the BJP State Convenor of the Senior Citizens Cell, at Mira Sahib, here today.
The primary focus of the meeting was to discuss the pressing issues relevant to senior citizens, with leaders sharing their insights and strategies on how best to address the needs of the elderly community.
The discussions emphasized the critical role senior citizens play in society and the importance of continued advocacy and support for them.
J D Singh, in his address, highlighted the significant role senior citizens have in every sphere of society. He encouraged them to share the wealth of their life experiences with the younger generations, thereby contributing to the vision of a developed nation.
J D Singh urged the senior citizens to take a stand against the political parties that have engaged in the politics of appeasement and false sloganeering. He emphasized that it was the BJP-led NDA Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, that has presented a true model of good governance over the past decade, addressing the suffering of people across the Union Territory.
Singh also highlighted various development projects and welfare schemes launched by the Modi Government over the last ten years. He urged the senior citizens to garner support for the BJP to ensure that more projects are brought to Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the creation of a “Naya Jammu and Kashmir,” where people can progress and lead dignified lives.
The gathering saw the participation of several prominent persons, including Advocate Devraj Sharma, Rajendra Pathania, Ashok Dogra, Madan Lal Raina, Girdhari Lal, Radha Krishna, Mukesh Sharma, G L Raina, Daulat Ram, Satpal, Jogesh Pal, and Ramesh Kumar.
