LEH, Aug 12: In alignment with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MoSJE) and its initiative to organize a mass pledge against drugs, the Department of Social and Tribal Welfare, UT Ladakh, also hosted a mass pledge against drug abuse under the “Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.” The event was themed “Viksit Bharat Ka Mantra, Bharat Ho Nashe se Swatantra.”
The pledge ceremony took place at the UT Secretariat in Leh, where Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of UT Ladakh, led the pledge.
All Secretaries, Directors, and officials of the Social and Tribal Welfare Department, UT Ladakh, participated in this solemn event. This pledge symbolizes our collective commitment to combat the rising menace of drug abuse, especially among the youth, and serves as a vital step towards raising awareness and reaffirming our dedication to a drug-free India.
The event saw the presence of several key officials, including Principal Secretary Sanjeev Khirwar; ADGP, Ladakh Police, Dr. S.D. Singh Jamwal; Commissioner/Secretary, Padma Angmo; CEO and Administrative Secretary, Yetindara M. Maralkar; Administrative Secretary, Michael D’Souza; Additional Secretary Law, Shashikant Bhagat; MD NHM/Director Health Service, Dr. Motup Dorjey; Director Social and Tribal Welfare, Tashi Dolma; Programme Manager of Social and Tribal Welfare, Abdul Rahim; representative from Mission Vatsalya; Mission Shakti; and other concerned department staff.
