JAMMU, Aug 13: In a recent meeting with women workers at village Plata of tehsil RS Pura, Bimla Luthra (State vice president of the National Conference Women Wing and former MLA) delivered a scathing critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Luthra accused the BJP of deceiving the people of Jammu and Kashmir with hollow promises made during the elections, stating that the public now feels betrayed by the saffron party. She also pointed out that the BJP’s claims of unprecedented development have been exposed, with progress on various projects moving at a snail’s pace.
The former MLA emphasized that the absence of a political Government in the region has led to widespread suffering among the people, who are bearing the brunt of the Government’s anti-people policies. She noted that unemployment has reached alarming levels, inflation is out of control, and the prices of essential commodities have skyrocketed.
Addressing the women present at the meeting, Luthra called on them to take an active role in the upcoming Assembly polls, highlighting the importance of their participation in shaping the future of J&K.
Among those in attendance were Joginder Kour (district president, Jammu Urban Women Wing) along with Bharti Panch, Savita, Raji and others.
