Putin calls relations between Russia, Pakistan friendly

MOSCOW, Aug 14 : Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a congratulation message to Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the country’s Independence Day and noted that relations between the two countries are friendly, the Kremlin said on Wednesday.

“Dear Mr. President, Dear Mr. Prime Minister, please accept my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the national holiday of Pakistan – Independence Day. The relations between our states are friendly,” the message said.

The Russian leader expressed confidence that constructive Russian-Pakistani relations would develop fruitfully for the benefit of the peoples in the interests of ensuring international security and stability.

“Bilateral cooperation in various fields, coordination of efforts in solving many topical issues on the regional agenda, including in the anti-terrorist and Afghan areas, is beneficial,” the telegram said. (UNI)
