Inflation broke all records under BJP: Bhanu Mahajan

JAMMU, Aug 14: Senior vice president of J&K Pradesh Mahila Congress, Bhanu Mahajan today asserted that the incumbent BJP government at the Centre and its proxy regime in J&K has broken all records of inflation, forcing people, especially womenfolk to go through nightmarish experiences.
The Mahila Congress leader was speaking during a meeting held in presence of observer for District Jammu from All India Mahila Congress New Delhi, Pooja Saklani organized at Trikuta Nagar. Mahajan organized the meeting in which all the prominent members of Mahila Congress from district Jammu unit were present. Senior leaders Rajni Bala and Sonika Sharma were also present.
The meeting highlighted the issues and demands of the women of the region, laying special stress on problems being faced due to sky-rocketing inflation and unprecedented rate of unemployment in this part of the country. She said that the government has done nothing on ground to ensure public welfare as could be gauged through protests demonstrations held daily by different sections of society in and around Jammu. She claimed that BJP government as proved disastrous for the people as the same has been marred with policy deficit and its divisive agenda.
Mahajan projected the issue of smart meters which has resulted in an unprecedented surge in electricity bills of people again hitting the household budgets. She also demanded restoration of adequate pension to widows, old age women and other categories of destitute women. She expressed concern over the government inaction on the issue of bifurcation of ration cards. She also projected the issue of allowing wine shops in residential areas and in the vicinity of schools and religious places.
During meeting the Mahila Congress team chalked out a strategy to strengthen Congress party, especially on account of upcoming Assembly elections. Mahajan asked the Mahila Congress team to work at grassroots level and expose the deceptive policies of BJP to convince more and more people to join and support Congress.
