Sir,
Jammu is the only city where the auto drivers break all the rules and yet no action is ever taken against them. They charge exorbitant amounts and meters are a mere adornment on their vehicles. But even the police consider this quite normal and not a blatant violation of law. When autorickshaws in other States charge by the meters, why cannot the same be implemented in Jammu?
It is urged upon the Traffic Police authorities and Legal Metrological Department to ensure that all the autorickshaws operating in the State have functional meters.
